General Meeting Motion Form
Please complete the Application form below and click "Submit" once completed.
The legislation does not set out how to word a motion for a committee or general meeting decision, however please refer to the following points as a guide to assist you, to ensure the motion can be appropriately considered:
Be Clear & Concise:
Are you clearly and concisely explaining your proposal so Owners can adopt the proposal without any further decisions?
Legality:
Does the proposal have to meet any special requirements under the Body Corporate legislation or any other legislation (e.g., building regulations)?
Economic:
Can the action required by the motion be paid for? Are there funds in the budget or will a special levy have to be raised? Instead of submitting just 1 motion, should 2 quotes be submitted under a group of same-issue motions? (Please consider the spending limits for the Body Corporate)
Action:
Is there a clear action to be taken? Is a time frame set?
Realistic:
Can the proposed action be achieved? Is it something that other Owners are likely to support?
By submitting the below form, you acknowledge that you are eligible to submit a motion for your Body Corporate to consider at its next general meeting. If your motion is received before the end of the Body Corporate’s financial year, your motion will be included on the agenda for the Annual General Meeting. If your motion is received after the end of financial year, your motion will be included in the agenda for the next General Meeting where practicable.
